i got my boots!!!!

So I finally got my boots back. They rock. I love having zippers, it means I can take my boots off all by myself (even when they fit properly). Usually when you get a pair of riding boots that fit right, you cannot, for the life of you, get them off. It requires at least one other person to pull, and then sometimes a 2nd to sit on your lap if the first person is dragging you across the floor or out of your chair. It is hilarious to watch but a pain in the but when you don’t have another person available. Bootjacks are horrible, they work, sort of, but you wind up hurting yourself (or at least I do usually). So needless to say zippers are amazing.

I rode pony again today, in my boots, and my legs felt a lot more normal (not so much of the moving stuff). She was still a bit difficult today but she could just be in season (not only does it make some mares act nuts [which luckily pony doesn't] but it can also give them things like back pains, soreness, and general discomfort [think a girl on her period]). So since she’s still learning to be a little more accepting it’s understandable that her discomfort would cause her to be a bit difficult. But she was better from the day before so that’s good.

Anyways, I’m exhausted.

not much at all

So seriously, this day was very uneventful. Pony was not as well behaved as she has been but I guess we can’t always have good days now can we? But it wasn’t a total disaster like it had been a few times in the past (when we were trying to reverse bad training).

I figure since I am not interesting today I should let you see the vid Kurt Schneider posted today, it’s just a little update but I’m kind of looking forward to College Musical the Movie XD.

Also, FINALLY heard back from my neurologist and I have an appointment tomorrow.

errands!!!

Kay so today was full of running errands. I went and tried on my riding boots before they stitched them up, they are awesome. And I have a feeling they are going to cost a good chunk of change. I was fussy, but if I’m going to get them altered I want it to fit my leg better ’cause that’s the important part. You know, so that my leg isn’t sliding around INSIDE my boot.

Anyways, did some other menial things. I sent my books back to school and dropped off my migraine med prescription. Woopie.

Then I came back to my house and ate the rest of my dairy-free ice cream covered in caramel sauce. I feel like a fatty, I ate it all in what? Three days? Yeah, I’m a fat kid.

new shoes

So Dee and I bought new shoes today. It’s our early 6th month anniversary gift to each other. We got these clicky on sale. Charlotte Russe was having a buy one, get one for $10 so Dee and I split and each paid like 23 bucks. Awesome. We got a “his and hers” set lol. Mine are the “his” because they are black and white so they’re like a tuxedo, and Dee’s are the “hers” because they are all black and are like a little black dress. We then proceeded to get hit on as we walked through the mall. It was total amusement. We really need our own camera crew. She was teaching me how to walk in 5″ platform stilettos and then we were feeling like Lady Gaga and broke out in random “I can’t walk in stilettos” dance. It was amazing.

We need our own reality series.

sunburn

I’m such a loser, I don’t know what it is but I can never manage to NOT get sunburned. It kind of sucks. My adorable nose is an unflattering shade of fuschia. I taught like 5 lessons today in the hot sun. It was a little rough but I felt worse for the kids who had to ride. I’m so glad I didn’t. There’s even a horse show up in Raleigh this weekend, the CDC (Capital Dressage Classic) and I feel bad for all those poor competitors in their top hats and tails (shadbellies). It must be so exhausting. I mean I was hot and tired after showing in Greensboro last weekend and it wasn’t nearly as hot. We are already having heat indexes in the 100s. Summer is going to be hell.

ice cream!

So Shelby and I got a craving for ice cream, when we were chilling at her place. So we went to Walmart… Well Walmart had Ben and Jerry’s, which is like a must for all who are not lactose intolerant (aka not me). So she get some ice cream, and they all come in those cute little pints. You know, the perfect size for like 2 or 3 desserts. Well I go to look for some vanilla dairy-free ice cream, and the smallest container I could find was a quart. O.o It’s a lot of ice cream. I mean I was intimidated. Seriously. On a good fatty day a person can down a whole pint of Ben and Jerry’s but dear god I doubt anyone could manage a whole quart (not that I would try lol I just don’t have that much ambition). What is this world coming to when you can’t get any/all ice cream in manageable pint sized containers? Not that I have too much ice cream (as that is impossible) but I have more than I expected.

I love my dairy-free ice cream…

surgery

My grandmother had her surgery today for her breast cancer. The surgery went well and she’s recovering nicely. It was an outpatient surgery and by the end of the night she was perking up (after we got a little caffeine in her). She seems to be doing well. I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed, she has another doctor’s appointment on tuesday. They’ll be back up here then but until then they are back at home. It’s a lot easier to recover in your own home. I know that for a fact, had I been at school trying to recover from gallbladder surgery I would have been obnoxiously pathetic.

I am really hoping everything stays going well. But until we know for sure, THINK PINK!

backstreet boys

For the first time in years I heard the backstreet boys on the main hit-playing radio station. Apparently they are going on tour. Did anyone know that they were still together (well mostly Kevin left the group). Like seriously they have to be in their thirties. There really is a time to say goodbye to your fizzling stardom. Boy bands are no longer in style (now apparently we are all about pre-teen idols and music that depicts graphic displays of sexual activity). It’s just… sad. Kevin had the right idea, retire already!

Anyway, if you’re interested check it out here.

so how about them thunderstorms?

Kind of got the day off today. The weather center predicted thunder storms all day so my trainer was like “not worth it”. So I too my time, went up to Raleigh and dropped off my tall boots and my trainer’s tall boots at the shoe place. Her zipper busted and I need my boots taken in and zippers added. So I got that done. Funny thing is, it didn’t really rain. So my trainer called me around 12:30, said that the weather center still predicted thunderstorms so she canceled my lessons and all I needed to do was unload the trailer from the show and do the evening chores. It only rained for about 30 minutes. So it was a bit of a bummer.

I’m tired though, I had a lot of cleaning to do, my Aunt flew in today and my grandparents came up because my grandmother has an appointment with doctors at Duke for her breast cancer. So lots of stuff happening.

Sleepy panda.
